Journalist | Writer | Editor

Marisa Sullivan is a journalist, writer, and editor based in Los Angeles, covering music, film, health, travel, tech, lifestyle, business and politics for top media brands. As a red carpet fixture, the veteran reporter has interviewed legends like Stevie Nicks, Steven Tyler, 50 Cent, Neil Diamond, Kate Winslet, Helen Mirren, Martha Stewart, Snoop and many more, scooping up countless breaking news exclusives for nearly two decades. She most recently covered Sundance and Tribeca film festivals for PEOPLE magazine’s film team.
Also a versatile performer on the stage and screen, the bold Chicagoan and University of Iowa grad (a teen MTV VJ finalist in TRL‘s heyday) has won lead roles in acclaimed Off-Broadway shows in New York City and has performed stand-up and sketch comedy on both coasts.
On the day to day, Sullivan serves as L.A. Deputy Chief for Le Monde in English, the English version site of France’s leading newspaper, overseeing a team of editors. Before starting at Le Monde, Sullivan was a full-time writer for People.com, a senior staffer for Us Weekly under Wenner Media and has represented both E! News and Variety on red carpets in LA and NYC.
One of her greatest achievements, however, was overcoming a life-changing diagnosis during the pandemic. Now introduced to a higher purpose in life, the five-year breast cancer survivor and spokesperson has shared her stories of resilience in outlets like the New York Times, Today.com, SurvivorNet, and Los Angeles Magazine. Each feature has continued to fuel her passion for health advocacy. Known as the lively “Breast Cancer Bandit,” she brings a mix of dark and playful humor to her comedy, supports newly diagnosed survivors, and spreads her infectious joie de vivre wherever she may roam.
